Salcombe Harbour is our latest Terry Harrison jigsaw which captures the beauty of the Devonshire South Hams town that lies on the Salcombe estuary in an area known for its outstanding natural beauty, safe clean waters and abundance of sandy beaches.

However, Salcombe was not always such a sought after tourist destination. In the 19th century, Salcombe was a major centre for shipping in the fruit trade and its vessels travelled as far as Iberia, the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Salcombe became a holiday resort between the two world wars and its popular Sailing Club that was founded in 1922 still hosts the Salcombe Yacht Club Regatta every August.

Painted by Terry Harrison, the 1000 piece jigsaw portrays the hustle and bustle that occurs daily during the summer months in Salcombe. As the church watches over the sailors and fishing boats, the holiday-makers dine al fresco on the locally caught crab and watch the boats bob by.

This wonderful jigsaw is made from 100% recycled board of the highest quality and is perfect for any Salcombe resident or visitor who has enjoyed all that Salcombe has to offer, from the annual yacht regatta and the picturesque beaches, to the calm clear waters that are perfect for ferry trips, sailing and yachting.

Artist Profile:
Terry Harrison was born near Wendover and attended Farnham Art School before becoming a graphic artist in London. Later, he joined the Yellow Pages as an illustrator and then Thompson Directories in their Farnborough head office. During his spare time, Terry pursued his first love; landscape painting. By 1984 the demand for his original work was so great that he decided to paint full time and never looked back! After just 12 short years Terry was awarded the Best Up and Coming Published Artist it of The Year by the Fine Art Trade guild, and five years later in 2001, Terry had his first book, ‘Brush with Watercolour’ published and sold over 140,000 copies. It’s no surprise that Terry Harrison can claim to have his drawings in most homes throughout the country.
